Congratulations to Jocelyn Cliffner on her new foal– Another Beautiful Tico Baby!

Jocelyn’s mare, Henny (by Torungen), produced a very nice colt by Tico on May 8th. She reports that everything went really well with the birth and the colt is doing just fine. We couldn’t be happier for Jocelyn! It is always exciting to have healthy babies and we are always pleased to have more Tico babies on the ground! That makes three Tico colts so far this year with one more mare (KeJaCo’s Katja—owned by Brianne Stromberg) left to go.

Olivia Farm’s foal #3 for 2013!

Our lovely mare, OH Sadie (by MVF Erlend), gave birth to a very big and strong white dun colt by Skogheims Viljar on May 14th! She foaled at 11:30 making her our third day-time foaler this year. And the third colt for the season! We can only wonder if Riena will break the trend.

This cross is our youngest, first-season stallion to our oldest and top-producing brood-mare. We will be watching him excitedly as he matures. Sadie is 18 this year and is officially retired from the brood-mare band. We are just pleased that everything with this pregnancy and birth went so well.

The fourth and final foal of 2013!

The most anticipated foal of the season was, predictably, the last to be born. Riena (by Myrstein) foaled on May 15th at 7:30 in the morning (thankfully after a few cups of coffee!). Her brown dun colt is by Perakrossen, a first premie Norwegian stallion and is the first baby born for our Frozen Semen program!

Riena, herself, is an outstanding Dutch import mare, so we have high expectations for this little fellow. Right now, though, we are just happy he is here, and that mom and baby seem to be doing just fine. We are also thrilled to be able to sleep soundly with no late-night foal checks!
